ConcernedApe "Haunted Chocolatier"

I'm not a huge gamer. That said, every once in a while I'll end up lost in a game that I can't escape from. Before the pandemic it was Call of Duty, during the pandemic it was Animal Crossing (obvs), and now it's Stardew Valley. If you don't know, Stardew Valley is a farming simulator that combines beautiful pixel art with amazing music. It was made entirely by a single person (ConcernedApe aka Eric Barone) over the course of a few years, and I'm obsessed.

But this isn't about Stardew Valley. It's about ConcernedApe and more specifically the new game that he's working on called Haunted Chocolatier. Who knows when it will come out but the hype is real. It looks and feels very similar to Stardew Valley except that it seems a little bit darker. Also, this time around you're a chocolatier instead of a farmer. Bring on the 8bit Willie Wonka vibes.

The Johnny.Decimal System

I'm a very organized person until it comes to my digital files. I've tried so many systems but they always break down in one way or another thanks to ridiculously niche issues/my laziness in upkeep. But someone on my timeline tweeted this blogpost that I think will change that. It's called the Johnny.Decimal system and uses a combination of digits to organize everything into areas and categories.

An example of Johnny.Decimal system

The whole point of it is so that everything in your digital life can be located with just two digits, a decimal, and two more digits. For example, if you want to know where your taxes from 2018 are you know that it's number 11.36. That's because everything to do with money and finances are in folder 10-19 with the particular folder labeled "taxes" being number 11. Your 2018 taxes are the 36th item in that folder. Hence: 11.36. That's a very bad/basic explanation so definitely check out the full post to learn how to implement it more effectively.

Quindio Alba White

Coffee makes the world go round, and I'm a firm believer that you can never have enough a e s t h e t i c ways of making coffee. This one is called the Quindio Alba White, and doesn't it just look pretty as hell?

Coffee that's also a e s t h e t i c

This looks to be just a simple way of making a nice cup of pour over coffee. It accepts standard cone filters on the top and when you pour, it filters down into a ceramic serving cup. We have a different ceramic serve in the office and it helps to maintain the heat for longer.

pixeUpdate.009

Over the last few weeks I had an idea to turn a few of my pixel art thingies into t-shirts, so here's one I made for the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips that just came out. I got myself an M1 Max one and can confirm: it fits perfect. Then again, I'm biased. And also a medium.
